Dr Ng Geok See received Bachelor of Mathematics with Major in Honours Computer Science and Minor in Combinatorics & Optimization and Electrical Engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada. He received Master of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the same university. He then further obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. He was an Associate Professor on the faculty of the Division of Computer Science at Nanyang Technological University.

He also obtained the Postgraduate Diploma of Teaching in Higher Education from National Institute of Education, Singapore. He was the recipient of the Most Popular Lecturer Award due to his teaching philosophy of participatory learning and real-life examples in the classroom. He has also given an invited talk to Microsoft due to his prominence as an influential scholar in teaching. He has worked as the Head of School of Engineering/Associate Professor, PSB Academy-University of Newcastle Singapore. Before joining Nanyang Technological University, he worked as researcher at the National University of Singapore in the area of image processing. He is a senior member of IEEE and ACM. He served as Sponsorship/Exhibits Chair, Invited Special Session Chair, paper reviewer, member of steering/organizing Technical Program Committee of over 25 international conferences since 1992.

For the local professional bodies, he has served as a chair of IEEE Singapore Computational Intelligence chapter, a secretary of Singapore Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence Association (affiliated to International Association of Pattern Recognition), and a committee member of IEEE Singapore Engineering in Medicine and Biology chapter. He is listed in the Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. He has received research grants of S$350K (Ministry of Education Innovation Fund, 2010), S$325K (National Research Foundation, 2009) and S$550K (A*STAR SERC (Singapore-Poland Joint Research), 2008). Dr Ng has published over 120 peer reviewed research articles in journals, conferences, book chapters and books (total citations: Web of Science 332(H-index 12), Scopus 445(H-index 13), Google Scholar 688(H-index 15)).
