PERI, an assistive device prototype that improves situational awareness for the deaf and hard of hearing, wins The James Dyson Award 2017 in Singapore. The team comprises of EPD students, Andrew Sng Bing Xiang, Ardy Samsir Kartolo, Liu Gelin, Xing Miao, Daryl Yeo Kai Xun and ISTD students, Pavithren V. S. Pakianathan and Yi Jiayu.
This device is developed from expanding their research idea of sound indicators to alert deaf people for imminent dangers during their Freshmore course, Introduction of Design.
