Congratulations to Assistant Professor Wang Bo and her collaborators who won the DB GlobalChip Award at the 2024 International SoC Design Conference (ISOCC 2024).
Their paper, titled “Lookup Table and Neural Network Based Decoders for Real Time Quantum Error Correction” proposes a lookup-table-based, minimum weight perfect matching decoder, achieving a decoding latency of only 4 clock cycles for a surface code distance of 7. The work also presents a light-weight neural network that significantly reduces the memory footprint in decoder hardware.
The DB Globalchip award highlights the team’s dedication to advancing cutting-edge research in quantum error correction hardware and their impactful contributions to the field. Prof Wang’s Senior Research Assistant, Utsav Jana is the co-first author of the paper.
The International SoC Design Conference (https://isocc.org/) is an international conference providing the premier System-on-Chip (SoC) design forum for worldwide researchers from academia and industries. Since its inception, ISOCC has been continuing to showcase the most recent innovations and trends in the semiconductor SoC area with active participations from worldwide researchers in academia, industry, and institutes.
