Abstract

A powerful machine learning model is the central part of a large-scale machine learning system such as translation or recommendation. However it is only a small part of a large pipeline of the service in the real world. In this talk I describe the building steps and the components of a large-scale machine learning system from my perspective as a Software Engineer.

Speaker’s Profile

Duc-Hieu Tran is a senior software engineer at Google, Zurich. He has worked on various projects building large-scale machine learning systems on YouTube and Computer Vision models at Google AI. He obtained his Bachelor degree from Moscow State University, Russia. He joined Google as a Software Engineer in 2013 after dropping out from a PhD program in Nanyang Technological University.
