Alakesh Kalita

Biography

Alakesh Kalita is currently a Lecturer in the Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Prior to this, Alakesh was a Research Fellow in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of the National University of Singapore, Singapore. He received his Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, under the supervision of Dr. Manas Khatua. He received the Innovative Student Projects Award 2022 (equivalent to the best thesis) from the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) for his Ph.D. Thesis.

Research Interest

Alakesh’s primary research interests are in the domain of Computer Networks, Internet of Things, Wireless Sensor Networks, Cloud and Edge Computing. Apart from these areas of research, Alakesh is also interested in domains like Metaverse and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), where he works on Game Theoretic Resource Allocation.

  • Received the Innovative Student Projects Award from the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) for his Ph.D. Thesis, 2022
  • MHRD and TEQIP Fellowship by the Government of India during his Ph.D. and Master’s Program, respectively
  • Received Travel Grants from COMSNETS and IIT Guwahati to attend COMSNETS 2019 and ICDCN 2020, respectively
